Watch the worlds biggest wave in action

Nazaré offers a dreamy environment to enjoy a complete walk. Beautiful beaches, incredible viewpoints, monuments, a rich culture and a tasty gastronomy are some of its strengths.

Less than 40 minutes is enough to arrive in Nazaré to discover its beaches with a mild climate and undeniable natural beauty. The long sandy half-moon shaped beach is known for its grandeur and for the brightly-coloured awnings that decorate the white sand beaches. This is the beach in Portugal that retains the more colourful fishing traditions, and it’s not uncommon to encounter fishmongers who still wear the traditional seven skirts scraming out their fish.
Take the opportunity of a casual stroll through the narrow streets near the beach, enjoy a fresh seafood meal, grilled fish and enjoy the sunset on a terrace overlooking the sea.

Those who pass through Nazaré must go up to the Sítio. It can be reached on foot by the bravest or you can climb the 318 meters rock face by funicular, the reward is that you will find one of the most beautiful and famous panoramic views of the Portuguese coast.
Nazaré is also known for its beaches with long sandy beaches and great waves for the practice of wave sports. It is in Praia do Norte that is the great attraction of the city: The “cannyon of Nazaré”. A submarine geomorphological phenomenon that allows the formation of giant and perfect waves, ideal for the practice of Tow-in Surfing.
